Summer Reflections…
Dear Ones,
It has been just over two years time since I’ve last written a journal entry.
Here are some of the highlights of the last two years:
We finished the release of my first live album “Voices Like Rain,” recorded on our 2019 European Tour, which includes live versions of some pre-released tracks, as well as songs that hadn’t yet been recorded. These captured live memories hold such a special energy with all of your voices in it- they remain close to my close to my heart. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
In 2020, I moved back to Ireland with my dog, Síle. Projects have been in production here since my first days back- some you have already heard, and others that are still in the works. The home studio continues to pulse with life, welcoming many artists and friends… I can’t wait to continue sharing music with you- stay tuned!
One of those amazing projects I had the profound honor and joy to produce and mix was an EP for one of my best friends and collaborators- Sukhmani. “Here” is nothing short of magic. If you haven’t yet heard Sukh sing, dive into these songs and get lost in her voice and mesmerizing percussion.
From my sweet studio, I released another full length album “Let It Breathe,” which may be one of my favorite projects yet. It features so many of my friends and favorite musicians. I am in love with every aspect of this album, down to the beautiful artwork by Ken Deegan with stunning film photos taken by Rich Gilligan. May we journey together with this music that carried me through the wild winds of change.
While the singles off of Let It Breathe were being released, my beloved band and I were embarking on the “Blooming Tour” through Europe that lasted seven weeks long and journeyed us over 20 concerts in 13 different countries… it was magnificent and unforgettable two months connecting with audiences beautiful cultures that we hadn’t yet exchanged songs with. We returned home utterly exhausted but overflowing with all the love we received on the road- we can feel your hearts from here!
And in most recent news, we just shared our first online course offering- Many Moons. Something in me was blossoming.. a closeness to this feminine way, an opening to home and gentle care. After years of travel my heart and body yearns to press my flesh and bones to the ground and feel my human pulse. I longed to gather, to feel the women who walk with me, to celebrate them, lift them, breathe life into each other’s deepest longing. I yearned to study and find ways of harmony to carry forward. My womb has been speaking — singing, screaming even — and I am readied myself to listen.
This first cycle of study was illuminating and beautiful; we shared this beautiful container for a month with almost 100 women and was exactly what I needed to nourish and prioritize my body and my own healing. We are already looking forward to the next time we can offer this course and can’t wait to invite more of you in!
I will be touring some through the summer at a few festivals, as well as returning to Toronto with Aisling and Sukhmani for a once in a blue moon concert, that has been over three years in the making on July 29th! We are sold out in person but have tickets for our livestream with Veeps available now.
