JOIN US IN MEXICO FOR THE FIRST

MANY MOONS RETREAT

A WOMEN’S GATHERING

A Healing Pause for Heart & Body

You are warmly invited to join me for an intimate retreat gathering aside the turquoise waters of Mahahual, Mexico. For years I’ve hosted online Many Moons gatherings where women all over the world could connect for a cycle of the moon together. This will be my first time inviting women to join me in person for this deep, soft, intentional time together. I am in a healing process myself these last years, and I’ve been reminded again and again the importance of stepping out of the rushing river of life to pause and reconnect. I am so deeply happy to invite you to the retreat center created by one of the most important women in my life, the woman who first believed in me and gave me the chance to record. CEO of her the record label I’ve worked with for over a decade, Mahai is the new budding project of Karan Khalsa’s creativity. I can’t think of a more perfect place for us to gather. This time together will be rejuvenating, precious, restful and life-giving. A chance to connect with music, nature and a group of women under a growing moon. We’ll bathe in the healing waters of the ocean together, send our prayers into the smoke of fire, sing for each other’s hearts in the moonlight. Men are welcome; partners, children, and of course our own beloved friends and musicians. But this will be a feminine space where we focus on the womb and the intricate cycles of our feminine form.

Mexico was the first place I found a home outside of my home country. It embraced me with open arms, teaching me new words, new rhythms, new songs and a new way to live in my heart. The intense color of this rich and vibrant country will always be part of me. I can’t wait to be there again, tasting the most delicious food and resetting in a land full of heart.

I invite you to join me, along with my band and dear friends, as we move into nature, song and ceremony for a potent time of connection and healing.

With all my love,

Ajeet

Guides

  • AJEET

AJEET is a musician, producer, songwriter, and longtime student of healing traditions. Diagnosed with hormonal conditions as a child, Ajeet had a strong initiation through illness that continues to influence her life and work. Healing traditions became important from an early age, and that interest has carried throughout her life.

Ajeet holds a degree in Holistic Psychology and Counseling, and has worked in healing and therapeutic settings as well as her work as a musician and yoga teacher.

Ajeet’s music has become a tool for healing and relaxation all over the world as she performs to sold out theaters and festivals, accompanies birth, death, creative practice, and daily life with music meant to connect the listener inward and offer an open healing space.

Join Ajeet for a rare opportunity to sing together without microphones, with the sound of the waves and the birds, coming back to the quiet place music brings us again and again.

  • AMAIA ELIZARAN

AMAIA is a Basque dancer, choreographer and yoga teacher who has made a significant contribution to contemporary dance over the last decade.

Amaia’s career as a dancer began with classical ballet and she quickly found a home for her unique expression in contemporary dance.

While Amaia’s career as a professional dancer continues to thrive, her own interest and healing journey lead her to seriously study yoga as a compliment to her own practice and, eventually, as an important part of her work. Amaia teaches dance and yoga classes, and in her own practice the two effortlessly support one another.

Amaia’s style is sensitive and gentle, deep and present. In her classes you’ll experience movement as a healing act, whether through yoga or movement. She plays with the line between freedom and structure, leaving more space in a yoga practice for freedom in the poses, small movements that feel right as one listens to her body.

Amaia will be teaching a combination of yoga and healing movement practices everyday during the retreat with live music by Ajeet.

  • RAFFA MARTINEZ

RAFFA has spent his life immersed in shamanic study in Africa and South America. He is a father, a healer, and a musician. He has toured with Ajeet for nearly a decade as her percussionist and often works on her as a healer on tour. His gifts as a healer and a musician are endlessly intertwined.

During the retreat he will offer both his gifts as a percussionist and as a healer, guiding our group in shamanic practices to cleanse and set intentions for the cycle ahead.

  • AISLING URWIN

AISLING is a harp player and singer from the southwest of Ireland. Her playing is beloved around the world for its contemporary creativity meeting deep roots in Irish traditional music and style. Her music is both ancient and fresh. “Aisling” means dream in Irish, and her playing feels like just that. It is easy to dissolve into Aisling’s playing and float into a dream.

Aisling will be playing daily for yoga, movement and chanting sessions.

  • AKALJEET

AKALJEET is a midwife, mother and healer from Mexico. She lives in Tulum with her family and supports the women of her community with birth, ceremony, yoga, herbalism and ritual.

She is a powerful advocate, educator and space holder for women’s health and empowerment. Her joy shines from her like the sun and her ceremonies evoke a sense of deep connection and remembrance. She is passionate about bringing women together to experience the power of prayer and ritual as an innate part of the sacred power we hold.

Akaljeet will lead us in ceremony to connect deeper to the land, ourselves, and this circle of women.

  • GABYLU ALCÁNTARA

GABYLU is a mother, healer and carrier of the ancient feminine rituals of her home country of Mexico. She has done deep study with the grandmother’s of her community for many years and applies practices for the womb, of working with plants, and of keeping sacred rituals with the rhythms of the land to her own life and also for her family and community.

Gabylu will be guiding us in working with the local healing plants by infusing them into honey, creating a healing sweetness for each woman to bring back some of the sweetness we share in our time together.
